Nursing Times connects nursing leaders to help address current NHS workforce challenges
The Alliance was proud to be involved in the recent workforce summit hosted by the Nursing Times in London on 28 November. The event organisers successfully brought together senior nursing and midwifery leaders and workforce specialists to address the evolving challenges and opportunities within the nursing profession.
We decided to participate in the Nursing Times Workforce Summit because we work closely with the nursing profession providing strategic workforce support to nursing leaders throughout England, encouraging collaboration and sharing of best practice across trusts and at ICB level.
Given our experience and expertise in helping the NHS develop high value innovative workforce strategies, the organisers invited us to join an afternoon panel discussion on building a future-ready nursing and midwifery workforce. Alyson Brett, Managing Director of our South East regional team provided thoughts on how technology can improve recruitment and retention in the NHS and transform delivery of patient care. As an example, Alyson provided the impact of technological solutions on international recruitment highlighting that as a result of e-visas introduced by the Home Office and right to work checks, we’ve already seen a significant reduction in international recruitment lead times.
Our exhibition stand attracted great interest, with delegates engaging with our workforce management specialist from across the Alliance to explore strategies that can help improve efficiency and productivity. It was a pleasure making new connections with those involved in the nursing profession and a fantastic opportunity to interact with those we don’t get to meet face-to-face on a regular basis but that we support both regionally and nationally. We would like to extend our thanks to the Nursing Times for such a well organised and inspiring event.
