The NHS Workforce Alliance has been notified by NHS England that moving forward, and with immediate effect, the worker compliance process applicable to bank employed workers will be in line with the following statement:
“Managed bank providers will often onboard substantive NHS staff onto their books and those that have stopped working at the Trust (substantive or agency) and want to work on the bank. This process aligns to national supply ambitions within NHS England. This notice is to clarify that this practice is permissible for managed bank frameworks only. In those circumstances the Managed bank providers and NHS organisations can agree the onboarding process to be adopted. All other workers should still undergo the full employment check standard.”
The NHS Workforce Alliance is in the process of preparing supplementary documentation which will support you managing this process. We will of course be happy to provide specific support and guidance should that be necessary.
