NHS Workforce Alliance shortlisted at EIS North Awards for staffing stakeholder project

The NHS Workforce Alliance is up for an award at the HCSA Excellence in Supply North Awards in recognition of its work with staffing agency Maxxima to support the recruitment of Allied Health Professionals (AHP) and Healthcare Science Specialists (HSS).

The Alliance’s regional team in the North of England formed a stakeholder group of 21 trusts, with a shared goal of leveraging the group’s buying power to overcome the challenges associated with working with a disparate supply chain.

The aim was to manage and improve the supply of AHP and HSS staff into their trusts, with the help and support of Maxxima as a master vendor service provider. As well as savings totalling £1.4million, there has also been a demonstrable improvement in service delivery, a positive impact on patient care and an increase in patient safety through improved governance procedures.

Supplier performance is now monitored and measured via a bespoke KPI dashboard developed by the team, and which aligns to the awarded contract.

The project has been shortlisted in the Regional NHS Procurement Transformation Award category.

Maxxima has been shortlisted for the same project in the Regional Supplier Innovation and Regional Supplier Value Based Procurement categories.

The winners will be announced at the EIS North Conference and Awards on 4th July.
